    Duties & Responsibilities

    As a Human Resources Generalist you will be responsible for the following:

    • Participate in the development of annual HR strategy and initiatives.
    • Partner with operations leaders and Talent Acquisition on Integrated Talent Management initiatives including: Talent Strategy, Workforce Planning, Sourcing & Recruitment, Performance Management, Learning & Development, Succession Planning, Leadership Development and Compensation.
    • Communicate and implement national HR initiatives and directions to management and employees at assigned business units.
    • Manage, coach and assist in resolving complex employee relations issues including but not limited to conducting investigations, performance discussions, terminations.
    • Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of employee problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's policies, procedures, practices and programs.
    • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
    • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention;
    • Provide HR Policy guidance and interpretation.
    • Actively drive as well as participate in HR projects.
    • Work with management team on delivery and action plans for the Employee Engagement Survey.
    • Partner with Health and Safety, to manage absences and return to work programs.
    • Other assignments as required.
    • Assist in the development of new HR initiatives.
    • Participate in HR projects, if and when required.
    • Provide back-up Reception support.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Work collaboratively and foster positive working relationships.


    • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management.
    • CHRP/CHRL or currently working towards it.
    • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, including hourly and salaried client groups.
    • Strong working knowledge and application of employment legislation and HR best practices.
    • Broad consultative HR experience, ideally within a multi-unit/location business.
    • Ability to positively impact and influence client.
    • Demonstrated ability to consult with members of senior management and establish credibility as a business partner.
    • Hands-on experience with innovative approaches to HR practice, change management and project management.
    • A passion for people supported by strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain business relationships inside and outside of the organization.
    • Ability to effectively handle many challenging tasks while providing best-in-class customer service with an attention to detail.
    • Good judgement, willingness to take responsibility and initiative to make decisions.
    • Must be flexible in adapting to a dynamic, fast paced national environment.
    • Enthusiastic, positive and self-motivated.
    • Strong facilitation and collaboration skills.
    • Adaptable, self-motivated and possess the ability to effectively set priorities, multi task and manage deadlines.
    • Bilingual is an asset.
